Default Front Coil Springs

I have a 96 ford f-150. (inline 6 with manual trans- 2wd w/air) I replaced the shock towers and while I was at it I installed new front coils from NAPA. After the installation the vehicle was setting high and proud. That was about 6 weeks ago.

I have noticed recently that the vehicle seems to be drooping in the front. The vehicle is not driven much and there has been less than a 1000 miles since the parts were installed.

Yesterday for what ever reason, I looked at the front suspension. It just did not seem to be setting right. The front coils have settled or collapsed and I have two coil rings (in the middle of the spring stack) setting hard on top of each other on the drivers side. So hard that you can see rust stains from where they have been riding with direct contact. The other side is almost the same with approx. .06 to .09 clearance, of course that clearance goes away with suspension travel.

NAPA says these are standard issue springs for this year and model truck and the reason for the problem.....unknown. NAPA says there are a heavy duty spring available that is a little large coil size and .69 longer.

Any one know what should really be used for this vehicle, should heavier duty springs be used. It appears like it is required but not called for by NAPA. Any Ideas or suggestions..

thanks
