Hey,
Truck started missing on the way to work the other day. Drove it home and it coded P0308. Replaced the plug, COP, new injector, 150 PSI. Noid light shows all are getting a signal from the ECM. took to mechanic and he's getting more than one cylinder misfiring. He decided it was the timing chain. Then he tells me it is too low on oil pressure so he says the motor's shot. I put my meter on it and yes, there are some misfires in random other cylinders, but #8 is really dead. Removing the feeds to the coil or injector finds it is not contributing at all.
Runs poorly but will idle when cold. I can drive it (runs really bad and is hard to get off idle) but once moving, it kicks into some power and I have no problem keeping up with traffic and it easily gets to 50-60 MPH.
1. Would it run well enough to do this if I jumped a link in a chain?
2. Is there any place other than by the oil filter to hook up an oil gauge?think the mechanic lied to me because when I crawled under to screw in my own gauge, it had not been disturbed.
Current codes are:
P0171
P0300
P0307
P0308
P0358
P0353
P0355
P0356
P0357
P2195

3. could it be the ECM?

I welcome all opinions,
Jimski
