It has been a while since I have done that and it was on an older truck. Still, I can't see that the way it's done would be much different.

Remove the steering column housing and you should see that the shift lever is held in place by a spring ping that will need to be removed via a hammer and punch. Again, this is a newer truck than the last one I worked on so it may be different. Be careful as you remove the pin holding the lever at the column as there is a spring in there that may come out at you.
