1989 6-cyl tachometer

This may be a weird thing to happen. Everything seemed normal, no overheating, no noise, engine running smoothly.

Water pump clutch broke shaft. Serpentine belt broke.

Replaced water pump, water pump clutch, belt, thermostat, hoses.

Started engine and Tachometer showed 2200 RPM, which was where it was when the water pump and belt broke. However, the RPM has never changed. Ever since it happened it always shows 2200 RPM.

Is there a fuse somewhere for the Tachometer?

Has this happened to any of you?
