1997 F-150 plow installation related

I have a F150 Lariat supercab and I will be installing a plow for residential use, not commercial.

I would like to know if anyone has any solid advice, concerns, or warnings that I might want to know. NOTE: I am aware of the Electronic power assist steering issues and installed a 265 AMP alternator and will install at least a 1000 amp backup/second battery in the bed.

Will the Torsion bars hold the weight of the plow?

I will install helper springs in the rear or maybe a added leaf depending on what the spring place advises. Then I can add weight to counter the plow weight.

Thank You

Welcome James!

I suppose the first question needs to be about the plow itself and how heavy it is. Many F-150 owner's have used plows on their trucks without any significant mods to the truck while others opt for heavier blades and therefore need to add heavier springs and Timbrens.

Hello Mac

not sure of weight, it looks like an older Pro series Western. Here is a link to the photos.
