Have a 2002 F150 Lariat 4x4 with 5.4.. AC Issue
Turn on AC and it cools but upon acceleration, it switches to the Defrost vents.

I was told it could be one of two things -- A defective Blend Door Actuator or, a torn or leaking vac hose thats behind the battery. I would rather replace the hose than climbing under the dash to replace the round actuator .

Is there an easier solution to look at??

If it is going into defrost then it is not the blend door. As for the hose that is a new one on me.
I know there are lots of threads out there about improving the ac in our trucks, mine is an '11. One thing I remember is a resistor or something that is changed to keep the compressor running longer. Ford decided for fuel economy that when idling the compressor should deactivate. Must not have spent much time in stop and go driving in Phoenix when it is 108. I am sure if you search you can find the improvement articles.
