I have only 500 miles on mine so not much experience with it yet, but so far it seems awesome! What are you guys thinking so far?

I just picked mine up yesterday and drove up to Santa Fe to test 'er out. Only 200 miles now but loving every minute I am in it!
can you guys tell us/me what the actual gas mileage is like with this engine?

Thanks
So far I am getting an average of 16-17 with a mix of city and highway driving.
I got up to 15.8 mpg on the highway yesterday during a 120 mile trip going 80 mph. Took her up to attitude at 9000 feet today and was getting over 15 mixed. Getting back on the freeway for about 20 miles doing 70 mpg I averaged 16.4 mpg. Mine is brand new with hardly any mileage so not broken in yet so I am sure things will improve from here (and the fact that I'll stop stomping on the gas once the initial fun wears off some)! :)
We have almost 5000 miles on ours and it gets around 23 when I drive city and highway. On a 5 hour trip out to the beach it got 25 with the cruise set at 70 mph

That's fantastic!
whats the size of the stock exhaust on the eco boost? and how big of a difference do the turbos make when your pulling a trailer?
The 15-23 MPG range for the 3.5 EB is amazing. Is it driving style or variability between motors & final gear ratios?

Buddy who is one of the top Ford trucks salesman in Texas claims average MPG for 5.0L ranges from 15-21 MPG & 3.5L EB 16-23 combined city-highway. He also recommends the 3.73 gears which give similar or better MPG than the 3.55, specially if factory 32" tires are upgraded to 34-35" diameter tires.

I have noticed the same thing with the 5.0L. Buddy has 3.55 gears, 5.5' CC & he gets 15 MPG empty with no add ons. I have 3.73 gears, 6.5' CC & 300# load, averaged 18.5 MPG over 1st 6000 miles, 50/50 city-highway with average highway 75 MPG. Added 150# Frontier brush guard & mileage dropped to 17.8. About to change out tires to 35x12.5x17, I will keep folks posted on the fit & change in MPG (corrected for change in speedo settings)
Actually, that's quite impressive.

Yeah, the Ford salesmen are really hyping up the Eco mileage performance. You can get what they claim if you don't drive your truck normally and baby any acceleration as well as avoid too much stop/go traffic. Real world mileage has been a lot different and a lot worse because the turbos have to spool up with any moderate acceleration or keeping up with traffic on the open road (like going up hill). My average of about 50/50 City and Highway (recently took a long road trip) has been 13.6 mpg. If you get up to speed on the open road (75-80 mph) then I have seen my mileage drop to 10.8 to 12 mpg at best. Granted, I have a leveling system and 33s, as well as the 3.73 rear axle, but even before then I was seeing about 14.4-14.6 on average. Maybe once I have a few thousand miles under my belt I'll start seeing some increase, but definitely not living up to the hype. Now the power on the other hand is definitely living up to the hype. :)
I have a nice Speeding ticket that says I'm having fun with mine.
Actually no complaints on a whole. Once the brake pads and rotors are broken in, it stops a lot better now than in the first month.
I've had My 2011 Ecoboost for three weeks now. and I have taken my trailer on a long trip hunting in eastern washington, going over a mountain pass and down thru the columbia river gorge, a steep 11 mile 6% grade. I went over the pass and the gorge at 70mph in 4th gear at 2800 rpm with lots of power left. I've renamed it the EGO boost!
I get right at the rated Mpg at 21 for my supercrew 4x4. I saw a post where a guy found that the sweet spot for good mileage on the freeway was 64 mph He says he gets 23 mpg. I have been trying this with so far it seems to be working, I'm getting
high 22 to 23.1 mpg. But you need to know I drive 45 miles to work most of it on the freeway.
The best thing you get from a Ecoboost is the POWER !!! What a Hot rod I feel I could out run anybody. and for towing what a monster! I have the tall 3.31 geers, and go up steep mountain passes at 70 at only 2800 rpm and LOTS of power left.

If I keep it just under 65 on the freeway I can get 23mpg I do alot of freway so I do that it seems to work.
I Keep it under 65 on the freeway and I get 23mpg
2012 4x4 EcoBoost

I have just crossed the 1000 mile marker. On a 200 mile hwy trip I was averaging 17.3 mpg. No add ons as of yet. Everything is factory. The salesman told me that the milelage would increase over the breaking in period. I am impressed with the engine overall, but the MPG doesn't live up to the hype.
I,m a little upset with the gas milage claim, I'm only getting 14 hyway and 12 in town , the dealer says it needes more brakin time , it's on it's third oil change and 14,00 miles ,, what do I say or do ?
I have a 2012 FX4, Tuxedo Black, Mod's, Locking Gas Cap, with about 400 miles on it. I'm very impressed with the vehicle.
Took it up to Central City in the mountains, with 130 miles on it, & averaged 17.7 M.P.G. i didn't go over 70mph very much. The power is unbelievable. I had a 2007 FX4 with the 5.4 which was a great engine lots of power, but the Ecoboost is just in a class of it's own.
R.
what happened to the claim of 20 to 29 on the highway , mine sucks the gas 13to14 on the highway at 55 mph, so far love the truck but not the milelage
