My check engine light came on about a month ago. The truck has been running fine so I thought nothing of it. I decided to take it to an auto zone and borrow the OBD-II tool to see the codes for myself. Heres what it showed me;

P0301-Cylinder 1 Misfore Detected
P1151-Lack of H02S21-Sensors indicate Lean
P1131-Lack of H02S11-Sensors indicate Lean
P0171- Systems Too Lean (Bank 1)
P0174-Systems Too Lean (Bank 2)

I dont really want to get raped on parts and labor if this is something I can handle in my own garage..as a novice mechanic of course. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Gary,

One thing I've learned is that the code readers at the parts stores are no match for a true diagnostic check at the dealer. That said, while I really hate to spend $90+ for a reading, the dealer can pinpoint the problem instead of the shotgun effect of the store readers.

Just my $0.02 worth.
