Cold weather spark plug change

2421 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Mr Mac
Autolite insists on it being "room temp" when changing spark plugs.

I purchased their HT15's and planned on doing it on the weekend, may be in the 40's or 50's.

Any problem in doing so?

Thanks for any input.

The big thing about room temp (or less) is the tendency for metal objects to contract/expand due to changes in temperature. If the engine is hot the metal expands and can be harder to remove thus making it more susceptible to breakage.

Ambient air temps in the range your area calls for is just fine for swapping out the plugs with a greater chance of success.
