Just bought a new 2013 F-150 Lariat. I need to remove the front floor mats to install Weathertechs. How do you remove the mats? They are secured by posts.
Thanks.

• To install floor mats, position the floor mat so that the eyelet is over
the retention post and press down to lock in.
• To remove the floor mat, reverse the installation procedure.

But how do you get the retention pin to release? I did not install the factory mats so I don't have a picture of how they went in. There is nothing in the manual regarding the mats. When I try to pull up on the clip it feels like it is going to pull out the carpet underneath.

I actually pulled the instructions for the mats from the owner's manual (page 290) so if the directions are to be reversed then it would seem logical to press down on the post to remove the mats. Can you post pictures?

Figured it out.

Figured it out. The clip doesn't release very well if you pull out side ring that looks like a washer. If you put your thumb on the middle and hold it down, then pull up on one side of the outter ring it pops free.
