I was about half way to work today when I started hearing this clicking noise coming from the front end of my truck. Is it safe to drive? If it's a cv boot or ball joints, I can change them myself, but I have to be able to get it 30 miles to the base.

The clicking goes away when I brake, or turn

First thing to do is a visual inspection of the area. I would remove the wheel and check to see if everything is in place and that you didn't pick up something from the road that got lodged in to something.

I had this clicking sound every time I hit a small bump and changed my sway bar linkages, fixed the problem. (Get the lifetime warranty on them) I had to changed them again since then and now need to do it again. I have 122,000 miles on the vehicle and have never changed the front shocks/struts/coilovers or whatever they are. But I am going to change that too this time and see if if corrects the reoccurring issue.
