I can't get my '98 F150 started. Battery is good (checked at autozone). No cranking. There is a clicking when first turning ignition key. Seems to come from fuse relay box in engine compartment in front of driver. Then just dead silence. Suggestions?
Can you jump start the truck at all and then have the charging system checked? Normally the clicking sound is caused by a weak battery but if there is a short to ground somewhere you may still hear that same clicking sound.
Had to replace the ground strap on Battery and positive lead to starter from battery on my son's 97 truck to cure his starting problems. Battery was fully charged and would hardly turn over and sometimes click. New cables and no further starting problems.
