Did you replace the oil filter as well? Many vehicles will take a little less because there is oil still trapped in places where it would take a long time to drain from. Give it a day or two and recheck your levels and you should be okay.
yes i changed the filter to thanks for your reply!!!
Is there a dipstick for the engine oil? I have a 2013 SCrew 5.0 and can't seem to locate the engine oil dipstick..
Brian,

As you face the engine look to the driver's side, about midway and look for a yellow ring, that should be your engine oil dipstick.
Sorry for the late response Mr Mac....and thanks for the info......I feel silly. I can't believe I missed that.
No worries!

Anyone know if changing your oil voids any kind of warranty? Ford recommends an oil change for my 2013 5.0 every 7500 but I've always been a 3k guy. Any help would be appreciated.

I hear ya on the 3K rule, Dirty oil is dirty oil!

No not at all just save your receipts should your maintenance come into question.

I work for a ford dealer, and NO, you do not void any warranty by changing your oil any more than recommended. However, keep good records in your book detailed as to the type of oil used, the date, and where it was done or If you do it yourself. also note when you change your filter too.
have a great day!
