starting issues

hey i need some help i have a 86 F150 with a 351 windsor thats not my problem. I'm having an issue with starting. if i spray it with starting fluid it fires right up. and runs fine but once i shut it off. I have to spray it again to restart.Does anybody have any idea what this might be. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you
